| Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 166, which was published in Volume 6 of The Living Light Dialogue, and begins with a question from a student.
"What is the lesson needed in my journey?"
Yes, the world, the universe, and all things begin to shrink when we no longer consider their importance to the whole. It is the little things in life that are ofttimes instrumental in freeing us from the dictates of our mind. The heart, we know, is the vehicle of our true being, the soul. But its expression must ever be under the guiding light of reason, for reason brings the balance between the functions and the faculties. Your lesson on Earth is a greater awakening of the soul faculty of care, to awaken to the importance of the little things of life to those who care for the little things of life.
Love is the energy known as the Infinite Intelligence. He who limits it shall pay the price of his own obstruction. Care is an expression, through the soul faculties, of this infinite Love, known as God. To love is to be all inclusive, is to be considerate of things our mind may dictate have no value, nor importance. It is our mind that restricts God or limits the expression thereof.
In order to accomplish the transfiguration of our life, we must bring all things into balance. And that is what is truly meant by keeping faith with reason, she will transfigure thee. Now we cannot truly express reason unless we are considering all things. For we cannot bring balance into our lives when we leave out the many little things which will, in truth, establish that balance. Reason, my good friend, is the path on which you struggle in your earthly journey. Look up and take hold of the hand of care. Your horizon will broaden, the faculty of gratitude shall open wider, and you shall experience, through the Law of Continuity of effort, a more productive and successful life."
Of the hundreds of classes given through Mr. Goodwin's mediumship, only a very few included personal messages to the students in attendance, and CC 166 is one of those rare classes. The quote above is one of those personal messages. Even though it is a personal message to one individual, the kind words appeal so clearly to me, for, as I look at the experiences of my life, I find there are many areas that would benefit from a little more care. What impresses me, also, about this quote is the kindness and consideration that, for me, is so clearly evident. But that is not surprising, for care, kindness, and consideration is a triune soul faculty. I am impressed, too, by how encouraging his words are. Inspired by these words, I am hopeful that, as I face the challenges and opportunities of this day, will be more encouraged and demonstrate a more care for the little things in life.
