Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CQA 17, which was published in Volume 10 of The Living Light Dialogue.
"By having discipline in our life, we become aware of the self. And remember, desire is the divine expression. Desire is the expression of God, the Infinite Intelligence. It is what man does with the principle of desire that causes the problems in life. Man's mind experiences this wonderful flow of goodness or God in his life, and then he forms and limits how that goodness will be maintained and its experience will be continued. It is man's mind that causes the problems with the divine expression known as desire. It is not desire in and of itself. Desire entertained in the minds of men is the blindness of the world. It is the blindness because it dictates how it will fulfill itself. In the moment that it dictates, in the moment that the mind forms the principle of desire, in that moment is man bound by the law that he alone has established. Because he has stolen the essence, known as desire, the divine expression, from God, it must be returned. And because man, having experienced the goodness of desire, because his mind has taken it and has stolen it, that is where the payment is. For in the dictate of how, when, where, and what will fulfill it, in that judgment and in that dictate does man pay the price of the human functions of the mind. For in that moment of judgment, there are no soul faculties; there are only the functions of the mind. There is no wisdom of patience. There is no consideration. There is no love. There is no understanding. There is no duty or personal responsibility. That is why man lives in a world of creation known as payment and attainment." This quote offers some insight on how desire is the divine expression and how desire may also be blind. Rather than dictating how and when our desires will be satisfied, a wiser path, as I understand these teachings, is to give the desire to God, accepting with a humble heart that it will be fulfilled. "That which is mine knows my face and is already on its way to my heart." If you have any topics you would like addressed in these weekly emails, please feel free to email your request.
