Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 196, which was published in Volume 7 of The Living Light Dialogue.
"But remember, my friends, in all of your choosing, in all of your identification, there are times in form for beginnings and there are times in form for endings. Thoughts that have served their purpose must be released from the realms of consciousness. For if they are not, then we become their slaves. The worker begins to serve the tool, for the tool no longer serves the worker. Above and beyond all that earth and the astral and mental realms have to offer is the beauty and the harmony, the peace and the joy, the goodness of life itself. Each moment, each moment thoughts arise within your mind. Are they serving you? Or are you serving them? It is soon that we will see, when we pause and reflect, when we look in that great body of water and we see the reflection, the illusion of mental substance. As we rise beyond those mental forms, we begin to see the unity, the wholeness and the oneness which we are. We must become united within our own house in order that we may be a part of the unity of the One. Let us no longer seek without for that that is knocking at our door within. Practice each day that wonderful principle: it is within. Remember, each time you declare the truth, "It is within," you rise supreme. You rise each time you accept responsibility for all your thoughts and activities. Each time you accept that great truth, you once again begin to steer your ship of destiny. You chart your course through eternity. You chart it intelligently with your eyes wide open. You will see clearly. Practice frequently during your days. Practice, "I accept. All of this that I think, all of this that I feel, all that I see, all that I hear, all that I sense is within my realms of consciousness. And because it is within my universe, I am the master of my universe. I and I alone can change it." So whatever you see and hear and sense and feel and experience in your life, when you speak that truth, the light of reason floods over your consciousness and you become transfigured in that moment. I cannot overemphasize to you, as students, the great value, the eternal value of declaring that truth: "It's within. I am the master of that which is within. And because all things that I experience are within, I am the master and can change those things." Our thoughts are very important, more important than we often realize. They are vehicles through which the life force or divine energy is expressed and they return to us as experiences. Our health, wealth, and happiness is ever dependent upon where we are in consciousness and on what levels of consciousness we are expressing, both consciously and subconsciously. When we accept in consciousness that we are responsible for our experiences, we place ourselves in a position to change our experiences. And when we deny that responsibility, we place ourselves in the position of being a victim of things and conditions that are seemingly beyond our control, and we, by that choice, become powerless to change anything. That is our choice, and we make that choice moment by moment. But the thought patterns that we have identified with for a lifetime do not change so easily. And that is one of the reasons why the students are so often encouraged to use affirmations, for affirmations help remove our attention from the thought patterns that no longer serve us well and direct our attention to goodness and the wholeness that we truly are.
