| Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 172, which was published in Volume 6 of The Living Light Dialogue.
"And I want to speak on that Law of Supply which flows through the open door of gratitude. All of you have the opportunity each day of demonstrating gratitude for the crumbs of life. And I would like to share with you this evening what happens when you don't demonstrate gratitude for the crumbs of life. Whenever you have an experience and you permit your mind to dictate that it was a good experience, but there should be more, you direct energy to the throne of judgment. And the energy necessary for the little crumb, the essence, to grow and become a loaf is dissipated by your choice of the mental superiority over your spiritual being. It is sad, but true, that through errors of ignorance the masses of your planet continue to live in unfulfilled desires because of that one, simple transgression of the Law of Supply. I do hope that you will take to heart this evening, that the faculty of reason may rise within your being supreme, that you may see, clearly and fully, how, by denying the crumb by the judgment of more, that law truly works.
My students, yes, make more effort on the little things of life, for it is those little things that build the abundant good that is your right. Tell the mind to be still and when, by your own efforts, you receive the crumbs of life, remember, in those moments if you permit your mind to dictate more, that essence disintegrates, the crumb leaves your universe, and your loaves never come to be.
And so it is not only in your material world, but in your spiritual world. For you are this moment, and every moment, you are building your spiritual abode. For each time your mind dictates, you deny the Divine Intelligence, called God. And your denials continue to be your destinies. Let us demonstrate more fully the crumb of gratitude, for there is indeed not only for you, as earthly individuals, but for the body of Light that has been brought to your world—and that body of Light shall strengthen through unity, yea, even more.
The greatest teaching that could pass through your universe is your personal effort to demonstrate what has been revealed to you. It is within your power and the time is now. There is no escape from that which is distasteful in your lives. There is only growth through it. You are growing and you will—most of you— continue to do so.
The effort of constant prayer is a demonstration of the Law of Gratitude: a recognition of an intelligent Power greater than your mind. And as you become more open and more receptive, by your recognition and your gratitude for that infinite intelligent Power, that infinite intelligent Power will flow more freely and more clearly through your universe. And any obstructions that you see today, redirect your view. For in so redirecting do you become a more open channel."
One of the key teachings of this philosophy is that we have a tendency to become what we place our attention upon. If our attention is placed upon our needs, we have a tendency to believe we are those needs, and we experience greater need. If we place our attention upon the abundance and we express gratitude for that supply, we, again, have a tendency to believe we are that abundance and experience greater abundance. Our experiences are a mirror reflecting back to us where we are in consciousness.
