Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class Special Seminar 1A, which will be published in Volume 18 of The Living Light Dialogue.
"We have come to earth to serve a purpose. The purpose that we have to serve is not within the realm of the mental world to inform us. We all know when we are still and when we free our self from the belief of the thought of I, for when we free our self from the belief of the thought of I, then we awaken to what we are and not what we think we are. For in so doing shall we then serve the purpose for which we have entered this earth realm. We cannot fully serve the purpose of our soul until we still our mind and awaken to the soul that we are. We are not the mind, nor are we the body, for if we are, then it is indeed sad god that we attempt to believe in. For what god would put anyone through such trials and tribulations? It is our belief that we are the thought that is our trials and tribulations. We have been granted by our divine birthright to choose wisely which thought at any time we choose to entertain within our consciousness. We have, by our birthright, the freedom and the truth that we are. But we cannot find that 'till we give up what we think we are and then, by so giving, awaken to what we are." We are not our mind and we are not our bodies. And even though we often believe we are our thoughts, we are not our thoughts. Think how often our thoughts change. How could we even for a moment believe we are our thoughts? Yet, whenever we express any degree of emotional upset, even the slightest degree of irritation, we, at those moments, believe we are our thoughts. And it is our belief that we are our thoughts that cause us so much suffering and grief. This philosophy encourages us to become more aware of our thoughts, for as we become more aware of what is going on in our own consciousness, we begin to choose more wisely which thoughts we wish to entertain.
