Dear Friends,
This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CQA 31, which will soon be published in Volume 11 of The Living Light Dialogue. Also, today begins our annual drawing, and for information on that, please see below.
“Surely, we will all agree, without tolerance there is little, if any, understanding. Can man understand what he cannot tolerate? So if we are truly seeking to expand in understanding, then let us look around—and we won’t have to look far—for someone that has or says something that we cannot tolerate. Then that, the stone we have rejected, is our golden opportunity. We take a good look at what it is we see them express that we cannot tolerate. And because we are the ones who cannot tolerate it, we are the ones lacking in understanding. Therefore, we are seeking to grow and expand in understanding.
It is our thought in our mind that we call intolerance. And because it is our thought in our mind that we cannot tolerate, we say that person is intolerable to us. It is our thought of what that person does that is intolerable to us. It is not that person. It is our thought of that person. And that thought of that person was given birth in our consciousness in our days and years of ignorance. We are the ones who suffer from our thought that we cannot tolerate, for that is the truth of the matter. It is not the person out there; it is our thought of the person out there that we, in our own mind, cannot tolerate. So we are the ones who suffer, we are the ones who struggle, and we are the ones with war instead of peace in our emotional being. The person that we think we cannot tolerate, they’re having no problem at all, which only proves to us it has always been our thought that we cannot tolerate. Think, my friends, we are our own worst enemies. We can be our own best friends.”
I am pleased to announce the second annual drawing to commemorate the birth and the passing on of the founder of Serenity, Mr. Richard Goodwin. The prizes for the drawing are 5 copies of Volume 1 of The Living Light Dialogue. That is, there will be 5 winners and each winner will be mailed a copy of Volume 1. The drawing opens today and will close on February 28, 2018. All are welcomed to enter---just respond to any of the weekly emails saying that you would like to enter. In order to be fair, only one entry per email address will be allowed. In the first week of March, the winners will be drawn. The winners will be notified by email and asked to provide a mailing address so that their copy of Volume 1 can be mailed to him or her. If a winner does not provide a mailing address in a timely manner, a new name will be drawn. As soon as all copies have been mailed to the winners, their names and countries of residence will be announced in this weekly email. This drawing is being sponsored by a number of friends of Serenity in order to make these beautiful teachings more available to those who are seeking. And I think this is a beautiful way to honor and commemorate Mr. Goodwin.
For those who are new to Serenity, you will find recent quotes on Serenity's Facebook Fanpage and that is also where you can join students of the Living Light from around the world to ask questions and share your understanding. I hope you will join the conversation.
To ensure that you consistently receive Serenity's weekly emails, be sure to add Serenity's email address to your contacts and your white list. This will help ensure that the emails are not treated as spam.
