Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: When our thoughts trouble us - Redirect

 “The teaching in the Living Light is redirect the energy, for the thought or the experience cannot exist within the consciousness without energy. Now energy follows attention. So the first step to make in freeing oneself of any experience that we find distasteful or not beneficial at any time in our life is to take control of our consciousness and choose wisely where we place our attention. I realize that it is—we make it difficult to redirect or put our attention on something else, something joyous and happy and beneficial. When a door keeps slamming in our face, it draws our attention, doesn’t it?


But then we must ask our self, “What force or what power is slamming this door in my face? First, I cannot deny personal responsibility, for if I deny personal responsibility, I give something outside of my control power over my life.” That is contrary to the very demonstrable law of the divine birthright of each individual of choice. So we cannot deny personal responsibility. We stop denying personal responsibility and we say, “Now this is my consciousness. These thoughts and experiences are entering my mind. They cannot enter my mind if I choose that they not enter my mind. For I have, by my divine right of evolution, I have what I know as the power of will.” Now the power of will or the will power of man is the lord or the law of man’s universe. So, we stop, we pause. The experience we find distasteful and not beneficial and we make a declaration within our consciousness that those experiences shall not recur, for we know the way. Through the redirection of attention, energy shall go to something of our conscious choice that we find more beneficial.


Now, what happens within the consciousness? The experiences are going on, but our attention and our consciousness is not on those realms. You see, when we understand that we are expressing through 81 levels of consciousness and these experiences may be happening on 1, 2, 5, or 10 realms of consciousness, we do not have to be there if we choose not to identify with those realms.”



I am pleased to announce the second annual drawing to commemorate the birth and the passing on of the founder of Serenity, Mr. Richard Goodwin remains open. The prizes for the drawing are 5 copies of Volume 1 of The Living Light Dialogue.  That is, there will be 5 winners and each winner will be mailed a copy of Volume 1. The drawing opens today and will close on February 28, 2018. All are welcomed to enter---just respond to any of the weekly emails saying that you would like to enter. In order to be fair, only one entry per email address will be allowed. In the first week of March, the winners will be drawn. The winners will be notified by email and asked to provide a mailing address so that their copy of Volume 1 can be mailed to him or her.  If a winner does not provide a mailing address in a timely manner, a new name will be drawn. As soon as all copies have been mailed to the winners, their names and countries of residence will be announced in this weekly email. This drawing is being sponsored by a number of friends of Serenity in order to make these beautiful teachings more available to those who are seeking. And I think this is a beautiful way to honor and commemorate Mr. Goodwin.
