Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 64, which was published in Volume 3 of The Living Light Dialogue. Also, the annual drawing commemorating Mr. Goodwin is open. For more information on that, please see below.
"One of the greatest obstructions to this flow of rhythm and balance is the mental concern over any situation that we may encounter in life. Now, it is a very normal thing to be concerned about the outcome of anything that we are interested in. This is a very normal process of the mind. When I say "normal," I mean it is very average. When we permit the mind to be concerned, that is when we become the obstruction to anything that we are seeking in life. Now, a person may say, "Well, I'd best be concerned or the job won't get done." It doesn't mean that we should sit back and just say, "Well, there's a Divine Intelligence. It will take care of it." No, that's not why we're individualized souls. But there is a fine point. There is a point where the mind does its job. There is a point at which the mind does not, and cannot, go beyond. The mind expresses in a mental level. And it can do many things and does do many things on a mental level. But there is a level of consciousness that is greater, that is far superior than what we call the mind. And when we reach a situation life, whatever it may be—our business, our prosperity, or our health—when we have done all that we feel that we can do to have the situation turn out the way that we desire it to do, there comes a point in time where we must let go. Let go of all concern, because we have done everything that we can do mentally. When we reach that point, there is an inner peace that descends over our vibration. And when that happens, it is amazing: because that which we have tried with such great effort starts to dawn in our consciousness, and it has happened. What it simply means, my friends, is this—consciously or unconsciously, it does not matter how—it means that we have let go. We have let go of the mental activity concerning the situation and now we will become the living demonstration of what God can do. And that's what happens, my friends. That's what happens when the mind says, "I've had it. I have tried everything," and it lets go." I am pleased to announce the annual drawing to commemorate the life on earth of the founder of Serenity, Mr. Richard Goodwin. The prizes for the drawing are 5 copies of any volume of The Living Light Dialogue. That is, there will be 5 winners and each winner will be mailed a copy of the volume of their choice. The drawing is open now and will close on March 1, 2021. All are welcomed to enter---just respond to any of the weekly emails saying that you would like to enter. In order to be fair, only one entry per email address will be allowed. In the first week of March, the winners will be drawn. The winners will be notified by email and asked which volume they prefer. The volumes can be delivered as paperback (which requires a mailing address) or as a PDF. If a winner does not respond in a timely manner, a new name will be drawn. As soon as all copies have been mailed to the winners, their names and countries of residence will be announced in this weekly email. This drawing is being sponsored by a number of friends of Serenity in order to make these beautiful teachings more available to those who are seeking. And I think this is a beautiful way to honor and commemorate Mr. Goodwin. If you have any topics you would like addressed in these weekly emails, please feel free to email your request. To ensure that you consistently receive Serenity's weekly emails, be sure to add Serenity's email address to your contacts and your white list. This will help ensure that the emails are not treated as spam. Additional information on these teachings is available on Serenity's website: http://www.livinglight.org Sincerely yours, Russell Fitzgerald Vice President |
