| Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 167, which was published in Volume 6 of The Living Light Dialogue.
"And so it is that we gave you long ago these many exercises. We explained to you the great value of what you were putting into your mind as you went off to sleep, the great value of what was in your mind as you awoke. Work, my good students, and apply more frequently. And your efforts, be they of pure motive, shall reap you the harvest that is justly yours. Be not so discouraged. Be not so disappointed with this great wonder of life. For it is, in truth, a great and glorious life. It is the way, that way when you open up your heart. For, you see, my good students, rejection does not exist in your heart. Denial does not exist in your heart, for your heart, the vehicle of expression of your eternal true being, is open to the eternity, to the unity which you truly are.
Apply, apply, my students, that which is demonstrably true, that which works for anyone that makes the effort. Do not permit your mind to dictate to you that you have made the effort and it is not working the way that you judge that it should. For those are the echoes, my good students, of the patterns of long ago, rising up from the depths of your own mind. They are so devious and so clever, that the old patterns may endure. You cannot compare the effort made on a positive path to the many years of darkness that have already been experienced.
Become more aware of the echoes of the mind. Become more aware of what they dictate. Bridge the gap that you may hear clearly what they say. Those are the voices within. Those are known as the voices of the subconscious. They call up and they emanate vibrations in your mental world that bring you experiences that you do not consciously want.
I know if you start this moment and you make the practice in your life of flooding your consciousness and you truly make that effort and, each moment that you are consciously aware, you flood your consciousness with divine truth, I know within a short nine days of totality, you will have the demonstrable experience of what God can do, through what is called the power of faith.
Now, we all have faith and we all have it in equal amounts, so to speak. But we direct it in different ways. It is not easy for many to declare the truth of accepting the possibility of all the goodness of life, because those patterns rise up and tell you how foolhardy it is. And they justify their judgments by telling you how bad things are going and how miserable and what a struggle that life is. Those voices from within are the living demonstration of man's faith in his own mind.
I show you a path of direction: to direct that great power, that great intelligent energy into flooding your mind constantly with goodness, with the greatness of life, with the abundance of life. And life, if you truly make that effort, life will respond to that broadcast from your mind. It will respond. Perhaps in a small way at first, because, after all, my friends, in truth, it's a small beginning effort.
It is time for all my students to stand up and make that great effort to become aware of what is being broadcast from their mind. Because I know when they truly accept the responsibility of their life, they will—you will awaken and, in that awakening, stand firm on the rock of principle, seeing clearly that all experience is a return of a level of consciousness.
Redirect your faith, my good students. Redirect this great power. For that which brings you the things you desire not is the same intelligent Energy that can just as easily bring you the things you desire to experience. That is your choice. But that choice cannot be fully demonstrated until you apply the law that works."
As a beautiful garden is maintained through consistent effort, so a peaceful mind and a good life also requires consistent effort.
