Dear Friends,
This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 133, which was published in Volume 5 of The Living Light Dialogue.
“As we pass through these many experiences of our lives, we, slowly but surely, change our beliefs. We, slowly but surely, broaden our reliance until such time as the reliance and dependence is so broadened that it encompasses all and leaves out no thing. At that point in evolution, we pass through the gates of eternal acceptance. And in that passing, do we free ourselves, for that passing is a separation of truth from creation or form.
In the experiences that we are encountering in life, there is a process taking place that is, surely and firmly, freeing us from our own attitudes of yesterday, from our beliefs and reliances upon what is known as creation. And so man, in all his endeavors and in all his thoughts, acts, beliefs, and deeds, placing in his mind the acceptance of all, is freed from things. To be freed from things does not mean not to use them for the purpose they have been designed. But it does mean an acceptance that they are, in truth and indeed, on loan for a time. To dictate the length of time that anything you experience or think you possess, to dictate the length of time it shall remain with you is to establish the Law of Reliance and, therefore, a guarantee of the experience that is known as loss.
Look wisely, O man, at what you call loss, for it is only the passing in consciousness of the things that have, like magnets, been attracted into your universe to serve, in truth, a good purpose. Some time ago we stated, “Hold not to form for form doth pass.” And now, perhaps you can accept the true value of that statement. Enjoy those things that move in and out of your universe, of your sphere of action, for in the enjoying of their movement of coming and going, do you flow and evolve to the great freedom in this the moment of your experiences. If you will but joyously permit yourselves to let go when things, by the laws established, are going, to feel the same joy in the going that you feel in the coming. That is where your peace and happiness truly lies.”
The quote within the above quote is from Discourse 3. One of the very first teachings of this philosophy is to broaden our horizons. My understanding of that teaching is that as we become less dependent upon people and things, we begin to awaken more fully to the God within us all.
