| Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class A/V Seminar 34, which has just been published in Volume 13 of The Living Light Dialogue.
"Whoever looks without for fulfillment is destined to grief and sadness. Because you must realize that like attracts like. If you look without for happiness, you will attract someone who is looking without for happiness. So they will look at you with a microscope and sooner or later they will find a defect. And it's over. Until the next time. So try to understand if you're looking without, whether it be for emotional stability, a relationship, material substance, then you are only going to attract that type of person. The law fulfills itself.
Now you may say, "Well, now this person's a very nice person," and find, surely, they are. But you must ask yourself the question, "Was I looking without for happiness and fulfillment when I met this person?" Well, if you were, the law fulfilled itself. You found a person now that is looking outside, denying inside, and looking outside for fulfillment. Well, the only thing they're going to find, after they blink their eyes a few times and put you under the microscope, is a defect. And then they'll go and look someplace else, you see. Because as long as you look without for what you think you need, you are still under the control of the destiny of denial.
Don't look outside for what you want to experience inside. Look inside for what you want and you will find it. Stop looking outside for what you think you want. Look inside, and you will have that fulfillment as quickly as you honestly look inside because it's all there. It was never anyplace else. For outward manifestations are only revelations of inner attitudes of mind. Look inside for everything you desire, for everything you desire has always been inside of you. You will not find it outside. You will only find like kind that's doing the same thing in the error of ignorance."
Our experiences have been brought to us by us. And in the experiences that we have merited, through the laws that we have established, we have the opportunity to awaken to something greater. We are greater than what we believe we are. And yet, we are lesser than what we demand.
