Becoming Instruments of the Divine

View this email in your browser Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 154, which was published in Volume 6 of The Living Light Dialogue. "We must look at life as life truly is. We have decided what is good. Therefore, supposedly we know what is bad, for that that we have decided is good fits into a sphere of limitation that we alone have created in mental consciousness. And anything that does not fit into that little realm has to be bad. And yet, in your short lives on Earth, you have already, already viewed, "What I thought was good has now proven to be not so good. And what I thought was bad has now proven to be good." So what is good or bad but the judgment man makes by his own errors of ignorance? We see the day and we see the night. We say that one is light and the other is dark. I assure you, my good students, it is all light. It is but a lesser light. And so it is the degree of light, as it is the degree of acceptance that we are experiencing in life. But remember, above and beyond all of that is the peace that is. The wars of Earth shall end in time not too far distant. They shall end because, in keeping with the evolution of the Earth planet, the Earth is entering a greater acceptance. And as that greater acceptance takes hold of your earthly sphere, wars shall come to an ending and peace shall reign supreme. Without judgment, there is no war, for there is no war within. And with divine will, which is total acceptance, judgment cannot survive. Wars are the effect of judgment. They are the effects of limited acceptance. And so it is that our school brings to your world the divine demonstrable truth: that God rejects nothing, that God is the epitome of total acceptance, and that love—not the love of your mind, but the love of your soul—shall reign supreme, that as you make your daily efforts to keep yourselves in the peace that is, you become an instrument of the Divine. And the light, though not visible to your physical eyes, goes out into the world wherever you walk, wherever you move, wherever you speak. And in so doing, it attracts, from the realms of light, angels of light that you may not stumble in the darkness. So be not concerned with your minds. And in being not concerned with your minds, the light shines more brightly in your earthly realm and untold thousands of joyous souls enter into your realm of consciousness and peace reigns on Earth and heaven has come at last."   Sometimes it is difficult, in the midst of the storms of creation, to even imagine the harmony, the consideration, and the joy of our true being. Yet, even though it is sometimes difficult to imagine, that realm of peace is a level  of consciousness within us and ever available to us. View this email in your browser Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 23, which was published in Volume 2 of The Living Light Dialogue. This quote begins with a question from a student, whose words are italicized. "I don't understand what you mean when you say that man is a law unto himself. Thank you. I'll be happy to share that with you. Please bear with us, because we not only have new students in these courses, but we do have many review students. Man is a law unto himself. In other words, whatever man thinks returns to him totally impartially. Whatever man entertains in thought, he experiences. Man is that law. Do you understand? Man himself. In other words, our teaching is not that God has put you into a certain circumstance or that God will take you out of that circumstance. Our understanding of God is a divine Infinite Intelligence; a divine neutral Power that sustains all things in all places, that has no beginning, has no ending. If man chooses to use this Law, this Divine Intelligence, for his awakening, for his joy, for his wonder of living, he may do so. Another man may choose to limit that Divine Intelligence—and perhaps it will help you on a discussion of what people call love, because most people are interested, to some extent, in that word called love. Either they love another human or they love a plant or a dog or a cat or money or something. And so perhaps by a little discussion on the word love, we may gain a greater understanding. When man experiences things that are in harmony with his attitudes of mind, he—by man, I mean humanity—feels and experiences what he terms is love. Now if a girl gets married to a fellow and he does basically what she wants, though she's not consciously necessarily aware of this, then they say that they are in love. What they are really saying is that they are in harmony or in rapport with the basic taped patterns of their own subconscious. Consequently, they have that experience for a limited time. Now the reason that it's usually a limited time is because people are introducing new tapes into their subconscious. Well, if their husbands or wives don't introduce similar tapes, then there's no longer any rapport and, consequently, they no longer experience this energy, this intelligence, divine intelligence, that they term love. Man limits himself; God doesn't. If a person says, "Well, I would like to have a true friend," well, of course, it's very simple: we cannot have what we aren't. If we accept that we don't have a true friend, then we certainly cannot experience one. So, my friends, what we've got to do is to become the thing that we desire. And when we become the thing that we desire, then we experience it, for it's magnetically pulled to us according to the law that like attracts like and becomes the Law of Attachment. So, you see, if there's anything that you're hoping for and if there's anything that you are desiring, become the thing you desire. Then you will experience it. You cannot experience something that you are seeking until you become it."   I thought this quote was very interesting not only for the insights that it offers but also because of the fluid way the topics changed in one short response. It begins with a discussion on law, touches upon love, and then circles back to law and how experiences are manifested. It is quite a journey in just a few paragraphs. For me, at this particular moment, what resonates is that we must become what we are seeking in order for us to experience it. In another class, Mr. Goodwin encouraged his students to stop seeking and start accepting. There is a world of difference. Obstructions to our fulfillment

View this email in your browser Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 159, which was published in Volume 6 of The Living Light Dialogue. "Look at each moment and each experience for the goodness that is being offered to you. Look at the kindness that is all around and about you. You are never alone. If you think you are, then you have closed the door on the multitude of souls ever waiting to help you to encourage you to inspire you to be a doer, to move in the world, to enjoy the world, for it is indeed your birthright to do so. But, my students, it requires changes. And in order to be ready to make those necessary changes, the judgments of yesteryear, they must bow, they must bow. It will happen someday. So why not let it happen today, peacefully and harmoniously? How often, whenever we are given or have merited a job to do in life, that we are about the business of doing the job, when change comes about? Do we change happily or are we filled with dictates and emotion? Are we filled with trauma and resentment? Or do we move on to this and that and ever onward and onward and onward? I assure you, my good students, the wall that stands between your fullness of life and you is only the wall of self-judgment."   When we can set aside the cloud of mental substance, the petty thoughts and judgments that we permit to rob us of the joy of living, when we can truly set those things aside, we will awaken to the goodness that we in truth are. And if any one person can do that, then it is possible for us all. Insight into anger

View this email in your browser Dear Friends, This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class that was given on November 15, 1974, which will be published in Volume 18  of The Living Light Dialogue. "For example, man may choose to direct his energy through a level of consciousness that is not beneficial for him. For example, he may be angry at another person. Now if we choose to be angry at another individual because they did not do something that was pleasing to us, what we have done in truth is given the individual power over us, for each time we think of the individual we become angry. Therefore, we have lost control of our own emotions; we have lost control of our self. Our teaching is the personal Law of Responsibility. If you do not like what someone else has done, is doing, or about to do, remember that that is their divine right to express. Now if it is not pleasing to you, it simply means that you have got into a level of consciousness and have attracted that experience to you; but you have the divine right to change your thought pattern and, therefore, regain this divine peace, which is your own power."   It is not our soul that gets angry. When we make judgments about how others should or should not behave, and they, exercising their divine right of choice, act in a way that is contrary to our judgments, our judgments become angry and upset. And we believe that that anger is our own for we believe our judgment is us. And the more we are attached to the person, often the more upset we become. The more judgments we have, the more often we become upset, and soon life is a burden. As we grow in acceptance, we lessen our judgments and give less power to people, places and things, and we experience more of the joy and the goodness of life.
