Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: What often motivates us to change

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class A/V Class Private 46, which will be published in Volume 16 of The Living Light Dialogue. The begins with a question from a student.
  

 "Why does it take pain before one wants to effect change in their life?"

"Well, the lord of the universe, that is, the lord of our universe responds to that which is painful and that which is pleasurable. You see, form offers duality. It offers pain and pleasure. It offers joy and sadness. So the awakening of that faculty of reason to shine over the lord of the universe—you see, the lord of the universe is your will. You direct intelligent energy; your will alone directs that. When experiences repeatedly reveal to you that the direction of your will, the effect of that direction of your will brings unto you pain, there is the natural instinct of survival that is instrumental in redirecting your lord of the universe, your will, that law, to something different than what you’ve already experienced. So that awakening does not happen until survival of what you desire is at stake.

 

Now to some people it takes a great deal of pain for—and suffering—for them to awaken and redirect their will into a different direction, you see. And then there are some people who say, “Well, I’ve never suffered.” And they continue right on creating the same forms that cause them so much suffering. That’s why it takes pain. In form, of, which is duality, there’s always the choice: pain or pleasure. When the pain is sufficient, one redirects the energy flowing through them by their will. When the light of reason shines over the lord of the universe, they start on a new direction or a new path."

 

 
"O suffer senses not in vain for freedom of thy soul is gain." When the suffering in our lives becomes intense enough, we find the strength to make whatever changes are necessary in order to experience a greater goodness in our lives. But that choice to redirect our will is ever available to us. We need not wait until the suffering becomes so intense to redirect our will, but we often do.

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: Insight into intolerance and judgment

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CQA 8, which will be published in Volume 10 of The Living Light Dialogue.
  

 "You know, it is so interesting to note: there is a simple way of seeing for ourselves whether or not we have had a similar experience as another. All we have to do is to become aware of whether or not we have tolerance towards that person that is having that experience. You see, my friends, the experiences that we have had reveal to us whether or not we’ve learned our lesson. If we have learned our lesson, our soul faculty of tolerance is expanded, and we enter the soul faculty of reason, where the light of God shines eternally. But when our eyes look around and about us and we find we have no tolerance, but much judgment—you see, my friends, you cannot be intolerant unless you be a judge. You must judge to experience intolerance.

And I am so grateful to this understanding of the Living Light that reveals so clearly that God is not a judge, but an infinite, intelligent, neutral Divine Power. And let us pause and think. If God, the very Intelligence sustaining our life, does not judge us, what do we do when we judge us? You see, we are the ones who judge our self. And because the law clearly reveals that we cannot grant to another what we have not first granted unto our self and because we judge ourselves all the time, we have no problem in judging others all the time. And because we do that to our self, we guarantee the intolerance to those around and about us, for we have already guaranteed the intolerance to ourselves.

Make friends with your adversities. Be kind and good to yourself.”

 
Along with this quote is another saying in the philosophy that says what we are intolerant of in another, we have yet to educate within ourselves.

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: The first step

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 16, which will be published in Volume 1 of The Living Light Dialogue. This quote begins with a question from a student and their words are italicized.
  

 “Getting back to the topic of reason, when you have to put something into balance, like a problem that is right here and now, to make a decision on, what do you do? Do you stop and let the mind become still? How do you put this into balance? How do you get into balance?"

"By becoming aware of oneself. You see, my friends, one cannot balance what one is not aware of. So the first thing is to become aware of the minds that we are and the patterns that we have established. Then, we become in a position to balance them out. Now we may attempt to balance, but until we become aware of what and who we truly are—and that is within the realm not only of possibility, but it is within the realm of probability, here and now. You don’t have to wait years to become aware. This is what these awareness classes are all about: to help you to become aware. Now that doesn’t mean that every student in the class is agreeing about what the teachings are all about, because not every student is on the same level of awareness. Now there are moments when some students are on the same level. Sometimes it lasts almost for a full sentence of communication and gradually it begins to last a little bit longer. But, you see, they have a rapport because they’re on the same level at that particular time and, therefore, they’re able to communicate in a clear and intelligent way.”

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: Insight into acceptance

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 48, which will be published in Volume 3 of The Living Light Dialogue. This quote begins with a question from a student and their words are italicized.
  

"Tying in with this talk of yours, will you please give us a discussion on acceptance, the divine will? So that we will have a better understanding of acceptance and what we are accepting."

Thank you very much. I think we have spoken on that subject a bit at one of our other classes, but perhaps we can approach it from a little different perspective. We have stated that God, of course, is ever equal to our understanding. And as we look out at nature, we see that God, or the Divine, is the perfect example of acceptance. The Divine accepts all creation and cares for all creation. The Divine has no rejection, whether it’s the blade of grass or it’s the human being. Now, the lesson that nature has to offer to us is a total acceptance of all things, of all people, of all form, of all attitudes of mind: of the believer and the disbeliever. All are accepted by the Divine.

Now, when man decides that he will accept this and he will reject that, then man has become greater than the Divine itself, because man has become partial. Man has decided what is best for himself. It is true that the Law of Creation is the Law of Duality, which guarantees choice and variety. When we are speaking on acceptance, the divine will, we are speaking on the acceptance of all things everywhere, at all times.

So many of us, when speaking to another human soul or having an experience, seemingly automatically reject it according to what we have accepted at some other time in our life. Therefore, we are no longer free. We are now controlled by the patterns of acceptance, and we cannot broaden our horizons or expand our consciousness. Because, my friends—don’t you see?—we have become greater in our thinking than God, the Divine."

 
   

And when we become greater in our thinking than God, we establish all the laws necessary for understanding to befall us.

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: At the crossroads

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CC 48, which will be published in Volume 3 of The Living Light Dialogue.
  

"This type of an awareness class is not popular in a world that is not willing to find the cause of all feelings, the cause of all experiences, the cause of all circumstances inside of their own being. Of course, it cannot be popular until such time as man is willing to bow in humility to the truth. And so it is our teachings, If the light is too bright, it is best they see it not now.

On the spiritual path of awakening, we reach a crossroad. Some of us reach many small crossroads. But we all reach that crossroad, and that crossroad is known as decision. And the decision that all people on the path will make someday—and some are making today—is very simple: “Do I want to face the truth inside of myself or do I want to continue in my slumber and in my sleep of satisfaction?” This crossroad must be reached by all souls someday. If we truly have made up our mind to face whatever it is that we have to face, if we have made that decision, then, my friends, we will be strong enough and we will remain on the spiritual path throughout this incarnation. But that is a decision that no one can make for us.

It is a decision that each student, that each soul, must make for himself. I can only say this: It is, indeed, worthwhile to give up a little self-motivation in order to receive divine inspiration. It’s worth it to all of us. And, believe me, it is a path that is inevitable.

So when we have something to face, is it not sensible that we face it when we become aware of it? Procrastination is not only the theft of all time, but it is more difficult to face a lesson in life the second time or the third time. Only a fool puts off till tomorrow what can be accomplished today. I do hope, my friends, that that will help to stimulate your thinking, because I know if it will do that, that you will at least make the effort to apply whatever is necessary to change the attitudes of mind that have proven themselves already to be not beneficial in your lives."
