This week's quote is from class ACP 35, which will be published in Volume 15 of The Living Light Dialogue. It begins with a question from a student.

 

“'Thank you. How is God’s love made manifest in work?'

When a person is working, they are experiencing an effect of the Law of Accomplishment, constructive accomplishment, to bring about some good in their life. And when a person works and makes the effort to bring about some good in their life, by the law [that] we grant unto others what we grant to our self, we therefore become instruments through which the environment in which we are expressing our self is evolved and benefited in a constructive, sensible, reasonable way. And so when a person is working, accomplishing some constructive good—now I didn’t say total constructive good, for there’s all types of work and there’s all type of things we’re attracted to in work. And sometimes we’re all in one body when we’re working and sometimes we’re only partially in the body when we’re working. But work is God’s love made manifest, for it is an accomplishment, a constructive accomplishment, which fulfills the purpose of our being. You see, we’re on the planet Earth here and we’ve come here with responsibilities to fulfill. Now everything—you take a look at the lovely flowers here, you take a look at the trees, you take a look around and about you, they’re all serving a constructive good. They’re serving the purpose of their design.

When man refuses or refrains, through an error of ignorance, to work, he is going against the purpose of design of the form that he is encased in on the planet Earth. Now when he goes against the very purpose of the design of the vehicle that he is expressing through, then he’s going contrary to the Law of Evolution and, therefore, will not and cannot experience what is known as God’s love made manifest. The workers win certainly is the saying. What do they win? They win the victory over the error of ignorance which goes against the purpose of their form on the planet Earth."

“'What is the best procedure to follow in fulfilling a promise or commitment?'

In fulfilling a promise or commitment, one must first make the effort to be fully aware of the various levels of their own mind. For if one does not do so, one is frequently tempted not to fulfill the commitments that they have made. So often a person makes a promise and a commitment without the total consideration of all of the levels of consciousness which they service. And because man is quickly tempted by various levels of their mind to commit themselves for the purpose of self-gain, man finds great difficulty in his life for he breaks his promises, he breaks his commitments for he has moved in consciousness in service to another level of the mind which has no interest, nor desire, for the commitments and the promises that another level of his mind has made. Total consideration of all the levels of our mind prior to making a commitment or promise is absolutely essential to a man of character."

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: Insight into belief

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from CL 66, which was published in Volume 9 of The Living Light Dialogue.

 

“And so often have you heard that the wheels of God grind slow, but sure. Whatever it is that you are presently experiencing, you may be rest assured that it is in the process of passing. It is when things within our mind are in the process of passing from our consciousness that we experience the great struggle and the suffering. The reason that we experience the suffering and struggle as experiences are passing through our consciousness is because, through our errors of ignorance, we believe that we are those experiences. It is our belief in creation that is our conscious awareness of creation. It is our belief in the experiences that we encounter that makes us, through the Law of Identity, an inseparable part of those experiences.

It has been known by many philosophers for many ages that the greatest difficulty of all difficulties is to help man to change his beliefs. It has taken untold centuries for the planet Earth, the people upon it, to evolve to the present state of evolution. And it will take centuries yet to be for man to accept the freedom that his very soul is crying out for. It will take centuries for the masses because beliefs are rigidly held to. We hold to our beliefs so tenaciously because we believe that we are them. And through that belief do we have our ups and downs and are we robbed of the peace that passeth all understanding. Take hold of your thought. Awaken yourself consciously to what your beliefs really are. For as man has stated long ago, “As you believeth in your heart, so shall you becometh.” For it is the Law of Identity and you have, through that belief, identified with and become a part of the experiences of your life.

It may seem to be a very simple thing to sit and say, “I shall change my beliefs. I no longer believe in illness. I no longer believe in poverty. I no longer believe in suffering. I no longer believe in the struggles of life.” But there is one soul faculty that must be awakened to its fullness before the transformation can take place. And that soul faculty is known as the soul faculty of inspiration, reason, and consideration. When you awaken within your conscious mind the fullness of that triune soul faculty, then you will have qualified yourself to flood your consciousness with the infinite, demonstrable truth that you are formless and you are free.

You drive your cars along the highway, but you know you are not your automobiles. You wear your suits of clothes, but you know you are not the things you wear. And yet in the greatest of all illusions, the illusion of time and experience, you wear your physical suits, your human bodies, and believe that you are them. It is because, my good friends, you have identified with the limitation of form. You have identified and because of that over-identification you believe and, therefore, you become.

Surely it is reasonable, and common sense and practical to believe in the goodness of life, which is in truth your own divinity. But to believe in the goodness of life, you must identify with the goodness of life. How does man identify when he has lost control of his mind and thoughts fly, seemingly, free through his mind? Man must first learn the simple lesson of life: the lesson of control of the self; the control of the thoughts that pass through the minds of self. For the greatest gift to God is the gift of self and you cannot give to God what is not within your possession to give to God. So first, we must consider control.”

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: Insight into seeing more clearly

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from ACP 24, which will be published in Volume 15 of The Living Light Dialogue. This quote starts with a question from a student.

 

“'Thank you. When looking at our videos, we see things clearer through the eye of the camera because the camera is not clouded by judgments. Is there a way that this same principle can help us in listening and learning what is truly being said?'

Yes, indeed there is. And that effort has to be made repeatedly, daily, to declare the truth: “I am the creator of the thought. I am not the thought.” For it is from the belief that you are the thought that the thought patterns become solidified and you experience what is known as judgments. Judgments are the censors, the mist that stands between your sight and what is, between your hearing and what is. This is why it is so difficult for people to hear, to listen, to truly understand, for the censorship of past experiences, known as judgments, adversities, prejudgments, which you understand as prejudice, is ever present unless the effort is made. At the moment you wish to see something, close your eyes. [If] you want to see something physically, first close your eyes and accept what you are. Gain control over the temptation of believing what you are. Accept what you are. You are the pure, intelligent, eternal Light. That is what you are. Declare that truth. Open your eyes and for a moment at least you will see clearly, as the eye of the camera sees clearly when it is not obstructed by dust, dust on its lenses or dirt.

So, you see, when you want to hear, to hear without censorship, then you must clean the dust and the dirt that is over your consciousness. The dust and the dirt being the judgments and the forms of past experiences.”

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: Insight into discouragement

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from ACP 22, which will be published in Volume 15 of The Living Light Dialogue. This quote starts with a question from a student. As we endeavor to make changes in our lives, thoughts of discouragement often arise. This quote offers insight into the nature of those types of thoughts.

 

“'When we are making continuity of effort in overcoming a belief or a pattern and the pattern denies that any progress is being made and that our efforts are in vain, what should we say to the pattern or should we ignore it?'

Well, the thing is, in reference to one’s efforts in awakening that they are not the pattern or the forms they have created and the form states in their mind that they are making no progress, that is the first indicator that they are about to achieve a victory in taking control over their life. And so it is most understandable that any pattern or any form that one has, in error of ignorance, permitted themselves to once again believe that they are, that as you are gaining control over the forms you have created, that they would tell you that you are making no progress at all for they appeal to your uneducated ego that another form rises up saying, “It’s a waste of time. I’ve wasted all these years and all this effort. What’s the use?” And you find yourself going right back to serve them. So take it as it truly is: an indicator that you are about to succeed. And the forms you have been serving know that you are about to succeed, and therefore, they’re only alternative, in order to stay in control, is to discourage you so you will stop making the effort.”

 

 

When thoughts of discouragement arise, that is the time to be encouraged and to make even greater effort. We are not our thoughts. We are that which moves our thoughts.

“Now we shall go further with that understanding. You will recall that Love is the law. Love is power. It is energy. And, my children, how many times have we spoken of selfless service! Selfless service is an expression of love in a channeled and a neutral way, releasing through our being this power or energy. The multitude of difficulties and problems that seem at times to befall us is because our expression of love is not equal to our capacity of it. And this is one of the greater reasons for selfless service.

In selfless service you are at the apex of eternity. You are sitting at the peace that passeth all understanding and you are a clear and full channel. Therefore the power known as Love or Energy or God is being expressed. And in so doing, as the water that runs through the pipe leaves its multitude of mineral deposits, so the power that flows through you as a channel deposits its multitude of blessings in your life.”

Serenity's Weekly Spiritual Quote: Our true security

 

 

Dear Friends,

 

This week's quote is from spiritual awareness class CL 13, which is entitled "The Web of Destiny" and was published in Volume 9 of The Living Light Dialogue.

 

“Who is so illumined to know what thoughts are right for you? Who is so illumined to tell a man what thoughts are right for him? Right and wrong is ever relative to our understanding. God is not a judge. And God does not bind or enslave the souls. Our soul, our divinity, may have wandered from its home, from its source. But that that wanders from a thing, in its very wandering, is already on its way back home. Because one may be a little greater distance from his home than another may be, does not grant to anyone the right to judge the distance.

It is the tendency of the mind to judge, to declare. The reason that it does those things is because of its own insecurity. So many of us in this world of expression are so insecure. We can garner all of the wealth the world has to offer, but it does not grant us security. Because by the very nature of creation, which is duality, which is positive and negative, which is loss and gain, again and again on the wheel of delusion of form, there is no security. As long as our minds look without to find security, that’s just as long as we are ever going to be insecure.

Security, my good friends, is when we find God. And that we find inside ourselves. When we find this thing they call God, when we find it, we shall know it. We won’t have to believe it, because we will know it. Then, no matter what happens in the world of creation, you will move through time and be not moved by it. For having found your true birthright, you will become what you have found for you have always been it and have only wandered from it.”
